Rachel Chavez - Director of Coaching

Rachel Chavez

Coaching Experience:
Rachael Chavez has over 13 years of experience in coaching youth soccer. Rachael currently holds a USSF “B” License and USYSA “NYL” National Youth License. Rachael was formerly the Director of Coaching for Grove United Soccer Association. Rachael is an Illinois Olympic Development Program coach and a Coaching Education Instructor for the Illinois Youth Soccer Association. Rachael has been a co-director of Pepe Jon’s “Happy Feet” which has served over 10,000 kids in Minnesota and has merged into what is now called High 5 Stars Soccer. Rachael has experience coaching at the college level, where she served as the women’s assistant coach at Bethel University in St. Paul, MN (2003-2010). Rachael has developed several players who have moved on to play soccer at the college level. Rachael strives to be a ‘Diligent  Worker’ on and off the field. Rachael believes that” no player is better than the next and it takes the whole team to be successful!”  Rachael’s enthusiasm for the game brings out the best in players of all ages and skill levels.

Playing Experience:
Rachael is from Plymouth, Minnesota and started her soccer career at the age of 5. Her love for the game continued on being a 4 year Varsity starter for Wayzata High School, competing for the State Championship each year. Rachael continued her career at University of Minnesota as a Golden Gopher. During her time at the U of MN, she was Captain, MVP, and earned All-Big Ten athletic and academic honors graduating with a B.S. in Sports Management with a Minor in Coaching. In 2009, Rachael played for the Minnesota Lightning, USL W-League 2nd division (semi-pro).

Rachael resides in Lincolnshire with her husband PepeJon and their 3 daughters, Arabella, Arria, and Amira. Rachael loves to play with her kids and enjoys downhill skiing in the winter and water sports in the summer.

Dan Olswang - President

Dan Olswang

Coach Dan began his playing career back in college at the University of Wisconsin-Madison where he played on the top intramural team from 1988 thru 1991.  He played defense during his tenure at UW-Madison and was voted Defender of the Week numerous times during his career.

Coach Dan began his coaching career at HP AYSO in 2005.   He coached boys and girls teams from age 6 thru 12 at AYSO.  In 2012, Dan took a U12 girls team to the AYSO National Games in Knoxville Tennessee.  No AYSO team from HP had won a game at previous National Games.  The Fireballs as they were called, finished with a record of 4 wins and 2 losses.

Dan held various board positions at HP AYSO.  Most recently, he served as Regional Commissioner from 2011-2013. During his tenure as RC, Dan had numerous accomplishments and received various accolades from his colleagues.  In 2013,  Dan formed HP Elite SC.  In it’s inaugural season, the fall of 2013, of the four HP Elite teams , one boys team won it’s division in the YSSL, the other boys team finished second, and one of the girls teams finished second in its division of the IWSL.
